Fit your design to the jar, lid or packaging
Measure the actual application area
For a lid design, measure the usable area inside raised edges rather than the outside diameter alone. On the side of a jar, check for embossing, seams and curves that interrupt the space. Use a paper outline to see whether the proposed width sits where you want it.
Avoid choosing a size from a jar’s volume alone. Two jars with the same capacity can have different shapes and usable label areas. If you are ordering for several jar styles, test the outline against each one before selecting a shared size.
Prioritize the text and design
Decide whether the sticker is a logo, a gift message or an information label. Put the most important text where it remains readable at actual size, and leave room for any date or batch information you plan to add separately.
Consider the color of the jar and its contents when comparing a solid printed background with clear material. Describe the intended background in your artwork instructions and check it in the proof. If the jar will be washed, chilled or reused, ask about suitability and care for that use before ordering.
Plan around proof approval and delivery
Vinyl Status provides a free online proof and free design help. Check the artwork version, spelling, dimensions and cut shape, and request changes before approving. Time spent preparing or revising the proof comes before production.
Production takes 2 business days after proof approval. Shipping time is additional; review the options for your delivery address at checkout. Free shipping is available on orders $100+.
